Terms of service

Last updated October 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between AnswerReel (“we”) and the business that creates an AnswerReel account (“you”). By creating an account you accept them on behalf of that business. Candidates who answer interviews are not bound by these terms; their data is covered by our privacy policy.

Your account

Each account belongs to one organization with one owner, who can invite members and transfer ownership. You are responsible for what happens under your account, for keeping passwords private, and for removing people who should no longer have access.

Plans, billing and refunds

  • Plans and limits are described on our pricing page. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Prices exclude tax, which is added where it applies.
  • Upgrades take effect at once and are charged pro rata. Downgrades also take effect at once; the unused part of the period becomes credit on your next invoice.
  • Cancelling stops renewal. Your plan continues until the end of the period you paid for and then moves to the free plan.
  • Monthly payments are not refunded. The first payment for a yearly plan can be refunded in full if you ask within 14 days; renewals are not refunded.
  • If a payment fails, your plan stays active for 14 days while payment is retried, then moves to the free plan.

Using AnswerReel lawfully

You agree to use AnswerReel only to screen candidates for real roles, and not to:

  • ask questions that are unlawful where you or the candidate are, such as questions about age, family, health, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or past pay;
  • try to use the service, or its outputs, to infer emotions, personality, health or other sensitive traits from recordings;
  • send invitations to people who haven't applied or agreed to be contacted;
  • reject or advance candidates on AI scores without a person first reviewing their answers, whether in AnswerReel or through the API, webhooks or Zapier;
  • break or probe the service's security, get around its limits, or use it to store material you have no right to.

We may suspend accounts that put candidates, other customers or the service at risk.

Hiring decisions and AI

You make every hiring decision. AnswerReel's scores, summaries and follow-up questions are suggestions produced by AI. They can be wrong, and they are meant to be checked against the candidate's own answers, which the product always shows next to them. Nothing in AnswerReel rejects a candidate automatically. Our AI scoring page explains what the scores are for, their known limits and how to review them.

Some places regulate the use of AI in hiring, for example by requiring bias audits, notice or consent. Whether those rules apply to you, and meeting them, is your responsibility as the employer or agency. Our notice template, question templates and our AI hiring laws summary are general information, not legal advice. You also decide the lawful basis for collecting candidates' data, and you can switch AI off for any job.

Candidate data

You control the candidate data you collect through AnswerReel, and we process it on your behalf under our data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms. Data you send elsewhere, through exports, the API, webhooks or Zapier, is then yours to look after; our deletion promises cover the copies we hold.

Our service

We work to keep AnswerReel available and secure, and we improve it over time. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before any material change to how AI scores or follow-up questions are produced, such as the model, the instructions it follows, the transcription service, how quotes are checked or the default settings, except for urgent fixes, which we tell you about as soon as they ship. AnswerReel is provided as it is, without promises beyond those written in these terms.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your organization at any time from your settings. Access ends immediately, and all candidate and organization data is deleted within 24 hours, apart from the minimal records described in our privacy policy. Export anything you need first.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect. Questions about them go to support@answerreel.com.
